Dust Collection by Double-sided Benchtron
Challenge:
A major precious metals recycler in the Southeast was having an issue with airborne dust and smoke in their facility. The process of melting down precious metals was creating a smoke and dust cloud that contaminated the entire plant.
Solution:
Air Purification Inc. was called in to engineer a source capture system to capture all the contaminants before they reach the breathing zones of the employees. We installed several Micro Air dust collectors, an Airflow Systems Panel Power Booth and several ambient air cleaners for fugitive smoke.
Results:
The results were excellent and the haze in the plant disappeared. The plant manager states the company has noticed fewer sick days and less down-time among employees. The biggest surprise for the customer came from the used filters themselves. When the used filters were incinerated, they contained enough recoverable precious metal dust that the air cleaners will pay for themselves in five years. Now that’s a return on investment!
